PLoS Neglected Tropical Diseases will publish
Dear Colleague:
We are excited to announce PLoS Neglected Tropical Diseases, the first open-access journal that will publish high-quality, peer-reviewed research on all scientific, medical, and public-health aspects of the neglected tropical diseases (NTDs). This journal, published by the Public Library of Science, edited by myself and a distinguished editorial board, will begin receiving submissions in February, so please join us and submit your next research paper.

PLoS Neglected Tropical Diseases will focus on the overlooked diseases that strike millions of people every year in poor countries. We will consider all aspects of the NTDs, including their pathogenesis, clinical features, pharmacology and treatment, diagnosis, epidemiology, vector biology, and vaccinology and prevention. We will also highlight the demographic, ecological, and social determinants, and public-health and policy aspects of these diseases. Please see the description of the journal’s scope for the major NTDs that are within the scope of PLoS Neglected Tropical Diseases.
The journal is organized to provide additional support for authors in endemic countries, and we particularly encourage these authors to submit their research to PLoS Neglected Tropical Diseases.
